An old building that used to be a truck stop when Highway 46 was a major highway for travel prior to the interstate being opened. In the 1960s era in man added an old pole barn and opened Twin Oaks RV. In the mid-to-late 80s he retired and the building was divided and became a muffler shop in one section, a carpet store in another section, and the old restaurant of the truck stop remained as his workshop. We opened as I said in 1989 and became on the largest RV dealerships in the state of Indiana. We purchased two additional adjoining properties during that time. We tore down the old facility and build a new facility which increased the floor space five times. Then, as we all know came along the crash of 2008 in 2009. We sold the properties and then reopened in the adjoining property at 7211 State Rd. 46 without closing one single day. We as many felt the impact of a hard recession. While the size of the dealership has changed our commitment to customer service has not. We value the fact that we know almost all of our customers by name, have seen their children and grandchildren born, and have had the privilege of selling the new generations of customers the new generations in recreational vehicles. Camping and all that goes along with it is a lifestyle that has been a proven winner. Camping allows people of different demographics in areas of income, race, religion, neighborhoods and etc. to come together around a campfire and make friends for lifetime. A place where children can still roam free in the campgrounds as we were able to do when we were children in our neighborhoods, is one of the many benefits to the camping lifestyle. Other things could be the excitement of seeing old friends when you get there, conversations around the campfire, exchanging recipes that you have found since the last time you saw one another, and the joy of seeing other families partake in the lifestyle we love so much.
